原來慢性嚴重的過敏,可能會影響身高

慢性過敏疾病部分家長會覺得可以去「忍受」、覺得孩子「看起來還好」,所以就繼續忍下去,或者選擇視而不見。直到發現孩子發現身高、骨齡有異常才驚覺不能放著過敏不管。

其實較嚴重的慢性過敏跟兒童身高生長是有影響的。輕微的過敏,影響不大。接下來講的是較為嚴重,已經影響到生活形態的過敏。(凡事當然有例外,當然可能嚴重過敏,也會有長到190 200公分的例子。)

想想看,大家都知道晚上要早點睡覺,身高發展才會有利。晚上要早點睡覺,身高發展才會有利

但是很衝突的,偏偏過敏的孩子常常會在晚上睡覺那一陣子發作

例如說:過敏性鼻炎造成鼻塞睡不好、晚上躺著氣喘發作、一直咳嗽、異位性皮膚炎孩子躺在床上開始皮膚癢一直抓,覺得很熱、明明冷氣已經開了24度,還是覺得皮膚很癢。過敏性結膜炎眼睛一直揉,影響到睡眠的品質。這到底!?那A安捏?

為什麼過敏都是晚上發作更劇烈呢?

講簡單一點就是荷爾蒙、生理時鐘調控、過敏系統䆁放物質,都會在晚上特別活躍。

所以就會大幅影響到孩子的睡眠品質,再嚴重一些,有些慢性食物過敏的孩子,很多食物都不能接觸,當然營養就會失衡,例如對牛奶、雞蛋等等過敏,孩子在這方面的優質蛋白質就沒辦法攝取。自然生長可能就會影響。

另外晚上睡覺的房間環境,很多都是跟過敏原窩藏的大本營,例如床單、床墊、放在房間的毛茸茸的娃娃、沒有清的冷氣濾網、主臥室房間有洗手間但沒有除濕的習慣⋯等等,很多過敏原每一個晚上就等著你的孩子回來,跟他開party的概念

所以過敏在孩子的族群,所考慮的是要更深一層的「生長身高」的因素進去,不要以大人的角度去想「孩子忍一忍就好」或者「這樣的症頭也還好」。

建議帶過敏的孩子來評估一下生長,或者如果發現孩子生長身高一直拉不上來,要給有看兒童過敏/生長的專科醫師評估是否已經影響到他的生長?
